With sincere apologies, we've gotten behind with our site updates. We're not wanting to overlook the fabulous performance of Schubert's 'Wintterreise' sung by Tom Yang with pianist Terry Eder. Tom and Terry are our Musicians of the Month for October-November.
Terry’s New York début at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in 2004 received critical acclaim, leading to additional performances in the U.S., France, Germany, Italy, Singapore and China. She was a “most distinguished” prize winner at the 2008 IBLA and Bartók/Kabalevsky competitions in Ragusa-Ibla, Sicily, where she subsequently joined the jury.
In 2015 she founded KEY PIANISTS, a new recital series at Weill Recital
Hall, with a mission to present to New York audiences seasoned artists who might not otherwise perform in New York City. Terry curated and presented concerts of all types at the gallery North of History, an upper west side performance space and gallery she ran with her husband in 2018.
Also active as a recording artist, she has released 3 CDs: Portrait, a recital program (CD Baby), Dohnányi Piano Pieces (Hungaroton), and Bartók Piano Music (MSR Classics). The latter CD was featured in Gramophone Magazine. Critic Daniel Rosenberg stated: “Eder limns the richness with a blend of exuberance and attention to detail that lifts the music from the page, as if she were telling a series of fascinating short stories.” Terry also earned a Juris Doctorate from Fordham Law School and has lent her legal expertise to a variety of clients and causes.
